I stopped by the store the other day to pick up some things that I’ll be using for crafts.
This month I didn’t get a lot done, unfortunately. I’ve mostly been goofing around and enjoying my last few weeks of freedom before getting a job and having to do real stuff.
Work In Progress Wednesday
There’s not much to talk about this week, because I just finished a semi-major project, my Scarlet Witch Cosplay, but I do have a few things I’m working on.
I’m finally finished with the Star Wars skirt that I’ve been working on forever! I started it way back in January, but promptly forgot about it and then lost it. I found it again, recently, and decided to finish it.
I really love the way it fits and feels. I cut it just a little bit shorter than the pattern called for, so that when I wear it a little above my waist (which is where I like to wear things) it falls right to my knees.
For the special doll I mentioned before on the post Giving Barbie Bangs but I also needed a plain black jumpsuit with long legs and long arms. To do this I bought a pattern for pants and a long-sleeve shirt which I intend to alter.
I’m making a special Barbie doll – I can’t tell you more about it at the moment in case the person I’m giving her to finds this blog – but I needed a blonde Barbie doll with bangs. I had a hard time finding one, so I grabbed a Barbie out of my old box and got to work on her hair.
I don’t know what Barbie I used – I think she was a ballet themed Barbie at one time – but her hair was in a half pony tale so I took it down and brushed it out.
If you follow my book blog The Writing Crafter, you’ll know that I recently had thyroid surgery and in recovering from that haven’t been doing much. I’ve barely read, most of my blog posts are drafts that I scheduled and wrote before my surgery, and most of what I’ve done has been playing video games and texting.
What can you make with a ‘Sexy’ Halloween Costume, a Prom Dress, and a George Washington wig?
Marie Antoinette, apparently.
